Could the Antichrist be coming out of the United States? Rev. 17: 11

When studying the book of Revelation I came across the familiar passages of Rev. 17: 10-11 “and they are seven kings; five have fallen, one is, the other has not yet come; and when he comes, he must remain a little while. And the beast which was and is not, is himself also an eighth, and is one of the seven and he goes to destruction.” If one studies Rev. 17: 8-18, you will see that these passages speak of kingdoms, five that had already fallen by the time John was writing the book of Revelation: Assyria, Egypt, Babylon, Medo Persian, and Greece. The “one is” that John speaks of is Rome (Rome was in existence during the time John received this revelation. What I’m interested in addressing is the seventh described in verse 10 as “the other has not yet come.” The seventh kingdom and eighth kingdom had not yet formed when John received this revelation. And the eighth kingdom--this eighth kingdom is the kingdom of Antichrist.

If we look at the history of England, we see that The Great British Empire ruled the world for a very brief time. At its height it was the largest empire in history, and for over a century, was the foremost global power. (Wikipedia). From England the United States was born and has been a global leader. Could it be that the seventh kingdom of Rev. 17:11 is England and the eighth is the USA? If so, this means that the Antichrist will come from the USA. The USA is the last ruling nation-state world super power before the one world government.

This is not an attack on the current administration. Leaders come and go and no one knows the time or hour of the coming of our L-rd. We must live our lives to their fullest. But we must also be aware that Yeshua/Jesus is coming soon and we should not be shy in sharing the good news that Yeshua is the Messiah. See the times. Are the fig trees blossoming?

  1. I just want to say that I am in agreement with you when you said "If we look at the history of England, we see that The Great British Empire ruled the world for a very brief time. Now I didn't quite put it together like you did on the history of England and how America came forth from that. Now before I say this I want to make a note that I am not speaking of people specifically but the organization. I say this because there are many good people within this is organization that I am about to mention. I believe and you can correct me if I am wrong, that In rev 17: 4-7 where it speaks of the Great Mystery Babylon; that is the United States. The woman arrayed in purple and scarlet decked with gold and so on etc... Is the Roman Catholic Church. No offence to my brothers and sisters in the catholic church. When you look at the history of the Catholic Church, there has been no other group in history that had killed more Christians. The purple, scarlet, gold, precious stones and so on are all riches. What other religious group has the riches that you will find within the catholic church? Especially the Vatican ?? It was also the catholic church that so many heresies have sprung from. I am not going to get into that right now. That is a topic for another time, But never the less to this seems to fit the prophetic descriptions very well. Now you may have something that you could correct me on or maybe something to add. I am open and excited to learn more. May the L-rd Bless you and keep you.

  2. I am unsure if it is the Roman Catholic Church, or not. But what you say, given the history of the Roman Catholic Church, does gives rise for us to explore the topic even more. I think we do need to point out again, as you did also, that we have many brothers and sisters in Messiah in the Roman Catholic Church who love the L-rd, and this is not an attack on them. Thank you for your very interesting comments. Blessings to you.

  4. I want to comment regarding the use of "Yeshua"..

Le-havdil, A logical analysis (found in www.netzarim.co.il (Netzarim.co.il is the website of the only legitimate Netzarim-group)) of all extant source documents and archeology proves that the historical Ribi Yehosuha ha-Mashiakh (the Messiah) from Nazareth and his talmidim (apprentice-students), called the Netzarim, taught and lived Torah all of their lives; and that Netzarim and Christianity were always antithetical.

The original words of the pro-Torah teacher Ribi Yehoshua were redacted by Roman Hellenists, and the redaction is found in the “gospels”. Jesus is described in the “gospels”, and le-havdil the teachings of the historical Torah-teacher Ribi Yehoshua from Nazareth are found in the reconstruction (using a logical and scientific methodology to create the reconstruction), Netzarim Hebrew Reconstruction of Hebrew Matityahu (NHM).

The historical Jew Ribi Yehoshua is not the same as the Christian "J...."

  5. Thank you for your comments. About "Yeshua": If you look at the Greek New Testament, you will see that the name Jesus comes from the Greek. When translated from the Greek texts into English we pronounce the name Jesus. However, the Greek is taking the name Jesus from the Hebrew: Yeshua. It's a matter of translation here. Hebrew Yeshua translated from the Greek to English: Jesus.
"Jesus" (pronounced /ˈdʒiːzəs/) is a transliteration, occurring in a number of languages and based on the Latin Iesus, of the Greek Ἰησοῦς (Iēsoûs), itself a Hellenisation of the Hebrew יְהוֹשֻׁעַ (Yĕhōšuă‘, Joshua) or Hebrew-Aramaic יֵשׁוּעַ (Yēšûă‘), meaning "Yahweh delivers (or rescues)".[38][39] "Christ" (pronounced /ˈkraɪst/) is a title derived from the Greek Χριστός (Christós), meaning the "Anointed One", a translation of the Hebrew מָשִׁיחַ (Messiah).[40][41]:274-275 A "Messiah," in this context, is a king anointed at God's direction or with God's approval, and Christians identify Jesus as the one foretold by Hebrew prophets. Yeshua, spelled יֵשׁוּעַ (Yēšūă‘) or ישוע in Hebrew was a common name among Jews of the Second Temple Period, and is thought by some scholars[1][2] and religious groups[3] to be the Hebrew or Aramaic name for Jesus. In modern Hebrew, Yeshu (ישו) and Yeshua (ישוע) are in fact the common transcriptions for Jesus.(Wikipedia)

As I Jewish person, I prefer to use the Hebrew Yeshua.
